While it's fine that players can scope out each others' creations when they're, people have to be on the same server and in the same room to really be able to see all the awesome stuff out there. That's why IGN is stepping in. Last weekend, we put out a call for players to send in cool created characters, and today we're ready to unveil the first batch of awesome content. If you want to be in a future installment, take a photo of your hero or villain at the character select screen and send it with the subject 'DCUO' to along with your name and why your character is cool.
If you're the cream of the crop, you'll make it into an article like these people did. Super Mario By: Jon Jamrog 'One of my favorite parts about DCUO is how flexible and fun it is to create your own specific super hero. I spent about 30 minutes the first time making a character just because there are so many choices.
After playing the game for a bit I decided to go back into the character creator and mess around a bit to see what I could pull off. What I ended up with was the super hero of the Mushroom Kingdom, Super Mario! Now I realize that Mario doesn't fit well with the whole PS3 thing but I still think it's pretty badass.' X479 By: Eric Glass 'X479 is the product of a failed joint venture (codename Regen) between WayneTech and Lex Corp. Project Regen was initiated as an attempt to replicate the process Silas used to save his son Victor, aka Cyborb. The end goal of project Regen was to create easily reproducible cybernetic replacements for use as human prosthetics.
The project was considered a monumental failure until a breakthrough on July 20, 2010. The scientists at both companies were able to revive a fallen SpecOps soldier through the use of cybernetic implants.' Cynn By: Cynn Smith 'This character is special because it is me. I guess I have a super-powered ego!' Cenobyte By: Rob Peets 'I created this character because as a kid drew a bunch of my own comics based on a Mummy-type superhero.
Basically the back story involves an archeologist who discovers an Egyptian tomb filled with treasure and a mystical throne room, which includes a couple of items that grant him the powers of the ancient Egyptian gods. DCUO character creation is so good it let me recreate my character down to the Ankh logo on his chest. Pretty awesome!' Ripskull By: Logan Smith 'I created Ripskull because I wanted a villain whose name not only would give you chills when you read it but also a villain who looks like he could stare into your soul and steal it from you.'
